NURSERY SCHOOL GENERAL INFORMATION

Nursery School classes meet for 2 1/2 hours per session several days per week in age appropriate learning environments. Class time is spent in supervised free play, working individually with teachers on multi-step projects, and in circle times that foster the social and emotional growth of early learners. In addition to regular class time, the Nursery School provides music, gym and library as “specials”. Class size is limited to 15 children and is led by two teachers.

In addition to the traditional Nursery School Programs we also offer Enrichment Programs to supplement your child’s Nursery School experience.

ENRICHMENT PROGRAM GENERAL INFORMATION

Enrichment classes are offered in six week mini-sessions throughout the school year. Designed to enhance your child’s Nursery School experience, several programs have been specifically developed for Nursery School aged children. Each class is 75 minutes in length (Summer Skills Camp is two hours in length) and is led by two teachers. Class size is limited to ten children.

Tuition and Fees…. $125 per session
Summer Skills Camp…. $260 per session


KIDS CUISINE is not just a cooking class. This class is a fun, hands-on opportunity to create delicious dishes to share at home. Each week the class follows a simple recipe that reinforces math and literacy concepts while constructing their own cookbook.


AROUND THE WORLD is a six week tour of foreign countries. Using our imaginations and Nursery School Passports we travel by boat, plane, train and bus to faraway lands to explore different parts of the world. Activities include crafts, movement, literature and creating a scrapbook to remember our journey.


UNDER CONSTRUCTION gets to the nuts and bolts of hands on learning. This class focuses on how thinks work and how things are built. Incorporated into this class are literature, math and science skills that will open new doors to learning.


DISCOVERING AMERICA from the east to the west and the north to the south. This class tours our great country through literature and discovery.

OUR COMMUNITY is a study of our life in Babylon and the people who work here. Walking field trips fill this program with exciting tours and adventures.
SCIENCE AND NATURE explores the world around us. This class of discovery brings out the scientist in all children. This class will investigate our local environment will and introducing concepts on preserving it

SUMMER SKILLS CAMP is designed for four year olds who have completed Nursery School. This two week program follows our regular school year and emphasizes advanced math and literacy concepts as the children transition to Kindergarten. Each camp day is two hours in length and incorporate individual and group learning experiences.

ALMOST NURSERY SCHOOL GENERAL INFORMATION for children who are 2 ½ before the start of their first session. This program is offered in three eight week sessions. Two teachers lead this program of stories, activities, movement and self awareness. Class size is limited to ten teachers.

OTHER INFORMATION
• We require that children be immunized in accordance with the NYS Department of Health Laws and recommend that they have an annual physical.
• A snack is provided each day for your child.
• Children in the three and four year Nursery School must be potty trained.
• We welcome parent helpers into our classrooms to help strengthen the Home-School connection and to give families the opportunity to share in their children’s school experience and make beautiful memories.
